ABOUT JISF
JISF is a not-for-profit charity foundation newly established in 2022 in the State of California. As stated in its mission statement, its goal is to offer support to less fortunate children and at-risk women by giving them access to education and a safer environment.
Our partners in this endeavor are the sisters of CND-VN (Congrégation Notre Dame Chanoinesses de St Augustin in Vietnam). The Sisters provide instruction and sometimes room and board to K through 9 children and illiterate adults who wouldn’t have an opportunity to education otherwise.
JISF follows a long tradition of service that was instilled in board members who are all alumnae of CND-VN. Alumnae have made monetary contributions to CND-VN since the 1980s after the Vietnam War ended. Facing advancing age and declining health, our group of alumnae have decided to come up with an investment fund that will provide a 5% yearly endowment to CND-VN for as long as CND-VN continues its mission in education.
The investment fund of five hundred thousand dollars (500,000USD) minimum will be administered in the US by an investment company of our choosing. At this time, we are in our first year of raising funds to reach that goal.
JISF by-laws and structure ensure that its mission will be carried into the future by younger generations of alumnae or by alumnae’s children who are committed to their mothers’ legacy.
